The Veritor System RSV Clinical Kit is for rapid detection of respiratory syncytial virus. This system detects RSV fusion protein from nasopharyngeal wash, aspirate and swab in transport media samples from patients.

This test is intended for in vitro diagnostic use to help detect RSV infections in infants and pediatrics under the age of 20. A negative test is presumptive and BD recommends that these results be confirmed by a viral culture or an FDA-cleared A and B molecular essay.
