The ZOLL AED 3® Defibrillator is an advanced automated external defibrillator designed to help both trained and lay rescuers respond quickly and confidently to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Combining ZOLL’s Real CPR Help®, RapidShock™ analysis, full-color rescue guidance, integrated pediatric capabilities, and wireless connectivity, the AED 3 provides step-by-step support throughout a rescue. Its universal CPR Uni-padz® can be used for both adult and pediatric patients, while long-life pads and battery, automated self-testing, and remote readiness monitoring help ensure the AED is prepared when an emergency occurs.

Key Features

  • Real CPR Help® provides real-time audio and visual feedback on chest compression rate and depth.
  • RapidShock™ analysis minimizes interruptions in CPR and can enable shock delivery, when indicated, in as little as 5 seconds after compressions stop.
  • High-resolution full-color LCD touchscreen displays vivid rescue graphics, text prompts, and CPR information.
  • CPR cycle timer helps rescuers track CPR intervals during a rescue.
  • Large color bar gauge displays compression depth in real time.
  • CPR Uni-padz® provide a single electrode solution for both adult and pediatric patients.
  • Dedicated Child Mode allows pediatric rescue without changing to a separate set of pediatric pads.
  • Available in both semi-automatic and fully automatic configurations.
  • ZOLL Rectilinear Biphasic™ waveform technology for defibrillation.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity supports remote AED readiness monitoring and post-event data transfer.
  • Comprehensive automatic self-tests help verify device readiness.
  • Rugged IP55-rated construction provides protection against dust and water ingress.
  • Designed to withstand a 1-meter (3.28-foot) drop

Real CPR Help®

High-quality CPR is a critical component of sudden cardiac arrest response, but it can be difficult for rescuers to determine whether chest compressions are being performed effectively. ZOLL's Real CPR Help® measures compression rate and depth and provides immediate feedback throughout the rescue.

Depending on performance, the AED can prompt rescuers to push harder or indicate when good compressions are being delivered. An adaptive metronome also helps guide rescuers toward the recommended compression rate. The full-color display provides additional visual feedback, including compression depth and CPR cycle information.

RapidShock™ Analysis

The ZOLL AED 3 incorporates RapidShock™ analysis to minimize pauses in chest compressions while the AED analyzes the patient's heart rhythm. ZOLL states that the technology can allow the AED 3 to deliver a shock, when needed, in as little as 5 seconds after CPR stops.

Reducing the time between compressions and defibrillation helps rescuers spend more of the emergency performing CPR rather than waiting for rhythm analysis.

Integrated Adult & Pediatric Rescue

The AED 3 simplifies pediatric preparedness through its universal CPR Uni-padz® electrodes. The same set of electrodes can be used for both adults and children, eliminating the need to maintain a separate set of pediatric pads.

When treating a pediatric patient, the rescuer simply activates Child Mode. The AED automatically adjusts its therapy settings for pediatric use. Factory-programmed energy selections are 120, 150, and 200 joules for adults and 50, 70, and 85 joules for pediatric patients.

Full-Color Rescue Guidance

The ZOLL AED 3 is designed to guide rescuers throughout the entire cardiac arrest response. Its high-resolution LCD touchscreen combines:

  • Full-color rescue images
  • Voice and text prompts
  • Real-time CPR feedback
  • CPR compression depth gauge
  • CPR cycle timer
  • Device and rescue information

The screen can be viewed with the AED positioned either flat or upright, providing flexibility depending on the rescue environment.

AED Readiness & Wi-Fi Connectivity

The AED 3 is designed to reduce the maintenance burden associated with maintaining an AED program. Comprehensive automatic self-tests monitor device readiness, while its smart battery and electrodes provide information about their status.

Wi-Fi connectivity can be used with compatible AED program-management solutions to remotely communicate device readiness and identify failed self-tests, helping organizations recognize potential issues before an emergency occurs.

Both the smart battery and CPR Uni-padz have a five-year life, reducing how frequently consumables need to be replaced and helping simplify ongoing AED maintenance.

Rescue Data & Post-Event Review

The ZOLL AED 3 records information from cardiac arrest events for post-event review. Depending on configuration, the system can store up to 120 minutes per clinical event, including ECG information, impedance measurements, CPR data, and device prompts.

Data can be retrieved through the touchscreen and transferred for post-event analysis and documentation. ZOLL's RescueNet® EventSummary provides access to clinical event information for quality review, analysis, and post-event debriefing.

Rugged & Portable Design

Designed for deployment in both healthcare and public-access environments, the AED 3 combines portability with rugged construction.
