Adjustable Blood Draw Arms

A defining feature of the Ritter 281 is its pair of padded, multi-position blood draw armrests.

Each arm incorporates Midmark's Quick Release mechanism, allowing clinicians to efficiently adjust armrest height as well as the inward or outward angle. This provides flexibility when positioning the patient's arm for venipuncture and can accommodate differences in patient size, posture, and preferred draw location.

The adjustable design allows clinicians to establish a stable arm position while keeping the blood collection site accessible.

Quick Release Adjustment Mechanism

Rather than requiring complicated adjustments between patients, the Ritter 281 uses a Quick Release mechanism on its arm assemblies.

The mechanism simplifies repositioning of the blood draw arms, helping clinicians quickly adapt the chair for different patients throughout the day.

This is particularly useful in high-volume phlebotomy environments where efficient patient turnover is important.

Patient Comfort & Support

The Ritter 281 features a slightly angled backrest designed to provide patients with a comfortable, supported seating position during blood collection.

The upholstered seat and back cushions measure approximately 20 inches wide, while the space between the armrests provides approximately 21 inches of inside width.

The padded armrests also provide support for the patient's arms during blood collection, helping create a stable and reassuring seating position throughout the procedure.

400 lb Patient Weight Capacity

The Ritter 281 has a 400 lb patient weight capacity, allowing it to accommodate a broad patient population.

The stationary frame provides a stable foundation while patients are seated, and the approximately 32-inch outside arm width provides room for positioning without creating an excessively large footprint for typical blood draw areas.

Optional Integrated Storage Drawer

The Ritter 281-012 configuration incorporates an integrated storage drawer positioned alongside the chair.

The drawer provides convenient storage for commonly used blood collection supplies while also creating an additional work surface directly beside the patient.

The storage drawer measures approximately:

  • 8.5 inches wide
  • 15.25 inches deep
  • 4.5 inches high

Keeping frequently used supplies within reach can help streamline blood collection workflows and reduce the need for clinicians to repeatedly move between the patient and separate cabinetry or supply carts.

The 281-011 provides the same basic blood drawing chair without the integrated drawer.

Compact Phlebotomy Workstation

With a seat height of approximately 20 inches and a stationary design, the Ritter 281 can be incorporated into dedicated blood draw stations without requiring the space associated with a full examination chair.

The standard configuration without the drawer measures approximately 30.5 inches wide, while the drawer-equipped configuration increases overall width to approximately 42.5 inches.

This allows facilities to choose between a more compact chair or a configuration that combines patient seating with integrated supply storage.

Durable Upholstered Surfaces

The Ritter 281 incorporates upholstered seat, back, and arm support surfaces designed for high-use medical environments.

Midmark offers the chair in a broad selection of standard upholstery colors as well as UltraFree™ upholstery options, allowing facilities to coordinate the blood draw chair with other Midmark and Ritter equipment throughout the clinical environment.

Available colors include neutral, blue, green, gray, brown, red, and other healthcare-oriented finishes.

Ritter 281-011 Blood Drawing Chair

The Ritter 281-011 is the more compact configuration and includes the core blood drawing chair without an integrated storage drawer.

This configuration is well suited for facilities that already have cabinetry, supply carts, or countertops located near the blood draw station and primarily need a comfortable, dedicated phlebotomy chair.

Ritter 281-012 Blood Drawing Chair with Storage

The Ritter 281-012 adds the integrated storage drawer to the standard chair.

In addition to storing blood collection supplies, the top of the drawer assembly provides an additional work surface near the patient. This can be useful for organizing supplies before or during blood collection while keeping necessary materials within convenient reach of the clinician.
